A collection of stuff that's made our lives better

From blogs and books to shoes and supplements, below you’ll find a collection of equipment, ideas, and organizations that have enhanced the quality of our lives. If you check them out, we’re sure they’ll do the same for you. (Disclosure)

Organizations

Xero (pronounced zero) makes shoes, boots, and sandals that are just better for your feet than many other brands. All of their styles have:

  • Wide toe boxes, so that your toes can spread and move the way they’re supposed to when you walk or run
  • Minimalist soles, so that your feet can actually feel the ground, which improves balance
  • Zero-drop soles (i.e. heels and toes are at the same elevation), so that your posture can be more natural, which improves balance and potentially reduces ankle, knee, hip, and back pain

Give them a try. If you like them even half as much as Ryan, you may never go back to the “foot coffins on stilts” that most people wear on their feet today!

Even if you train at TNT — or elsewhere — having a few kettlebells at home means you’re less likely to miss a training day when the kids get sick, your alarm clock doesn’t go off, or Mother Nature acts hostile. (We all know how entertaining Wisconsin winters can be.)

Of course, if you’re going to have your own bells, you want them to be durable, comfortable, and reasonably priced.

That’s exactly what you’ll get with Rogue’s e-coat kettlebells. They’re designed with appropriate space between the handle and bell — so they rest comfortably on the backs of your forearms during cleans, presses, snatches, and get-ups — and a highly rust-resistant, textured finish that provides a sturdy grip without being too abrasive.

On top of that, they’re very reasonably-priced compared to other kettlebells of similar quality and are made right here in these good old United States of America.
