Chicken Quinoa Bowls

Unlike in last week’s (recipe) tip, there’s no ingredient-related Dad Joke anywhere in this week’s tip. Although that’s not because I didn’t try to find one. The couple that I saw were just so bad that I couldn’t bring myself to repeat them. (Hey, everyone has their limits.)

Fortunately for you, today’s recipe for chicken quinoa bowls is far better than the jokes would have been anyway.

Better how?

The recipe:

  • requires very little time to prepare; quinoa can be fully cooked in 10-15 minutes, and everything else is pre-cooked.
  • is versatile; just swap out the chicken for steak or salmon or add everything to the top of a salad for simple variations.
  • is tasty and a good source of protein and carbs, which you can read more about here (protein) and here (carbs).

And the only thing the jokes had going for them was that they were short. 😉

Anyway, let me know what you think if you give this recipe a try!

On a final note, if you’re new to getting these tips and haven’t previously seen one with a recipe, the ingredient list is written a little differently than what you might be used to seeing. It’s a modified version of a method used to simplify the cooking process.

I was first exposed to the idea when reading Tim Ferriss’ book The 4-Hour Chef, which is actually a great book if you currently aren’t very comfortable in the kitchen and want to either level-up your cooking skills or simply refine your process for learning anything new.
