They say time flies when you’re having fun… I guess that’s how we find ourselves already in July!
While I know that not everyone enjoys the 80°(+) temps that summer brings, I’m a big fan of the sunshine and heat. The longer days and earlier dawns make 4-5 AM wake-up alarms seem a bit more pleasant, and I find that training sessions are far more enjoyable when I feel like I’m not constantly fighting off a chill.
Warmer temps also generally mean more grilling, which is where today’s tip might apply.
Instead of making boring, old burgers this Independence Day—not that there’s really anything wrong with burgers—consider amping up your game by soaking some chicken, ribs (my personal favorite), or, of course, steak in the best steak marinade in existence before putting them on the grill. I don’t claim to be a marinade connoisseur and wasn’t the one who named this recipe, but it is pretty darn delicious.
Then if you’re looking for a cooler and perhaps more refreshing complement to the grilled meat, this Greek “zoodle” salad is hard to beat as well.
Let me know what you think about these recipes if you give them a try. Either way, I hope you have a safe and enjoyable Independence Day!
If you’re new to getting these tips and haven’t previously seen one with a recipe, the ingredient list is written a little differently than what you might be used to seeing. It’s a modified version of a method used to simplify the cooking process.
I was first exposed to the idea when reading Tim Ferriss’ book, The 4-Hour Chef, which is actually a great book if you currently aren’t very comfortable in the kitchen and want to either level-up your cooking skills or simply refine your process for learning anything new.
