We’re advocates for the value of assuming personal responsibility for our own actions. And we don’t play the role of doctor on television or in real life. Accordingly, we leave most COVID-related decisions to you and your actual doctor.
Below is the shortlist of what we do and don’t do to keep this as a non-issue at the gym:
What we don’t do
We don’t require masks, although you’re more than welcome to wear one if you prefer. Some members currently do or have done so, but most currently do not. If that concerns you, perhaps consider training with us virtually. It’s a rather convenient option, even if your only reason for doing so is that you simply don’t care to drive to the gym on a given day!
We also don’t care about your vaccination status. That’s between you, your doctor, and anyone else with whom you choose to share it. So, you’re more than welcome to fill us in if you feel the need. But we’re not going to ask.
What we do
We do expect you to clean your equipment when you’re finished using it. (Cleaning solution and paper towels are provided.)
We also expect you to respect others by staying home if you know you’ve been exposed to someone with COVID or if you’re feeling a bit under the weather, no matter the cause.
Both actions are actually just good gym etiquette as opposed to being COVID-specific, but we’ll still emphasize them anyway. On the other hand, you probably won’t fit in very well here if we have to tell you to cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze or to wash your hands regularly…
Be a respectful human who follows basic sanitary practices. We’ve had a grand total of exactly zero issues so far, and we expect the trend to continue as long as we follow this primary guideline.
