Staff

Meet our staff

With TNT being a StrongFirst accredited gym (one of only a few in Wisconsin), you’d expect our coaches to be knowledgeable, experienced, and dedicated to your success. And they most certainly are. But what really makes them effective, engaging, and fun is their dedication to their own goals and personal development, both fitness and otherwise.

They can help you reach your goals because they’ve been where you’ve been. They’ve struggled. And overcome. Along the way, they’ve learned techniques that work, strategies that don’t, and that there’s even more to yet learn and accomplish.

Read up. Then join us. We’re looking forward to meeting you and achieving together…

Ryan ToshnerCo-founder & Athletic Director

Ryan is equal parts book worm and athlete. He graduated from college with a degree in Information Technology and worked in the industry for almost a decade, but he always had a passion for participating in and inspiring others towards physical activity. He began dabbling with actually training others after passing the Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) exam in 2006 but didn’t truly begin pursuing it as a career until after attending his first kettlebell certification in 2008.

Ryan currently holds kettlebell (SFG II), barbell (SFL), and body weight (SFB) certifications through StrongFirst and, as a Senior Instructor on the leadership team, teaches for them. He also holds a functional movement certification (FMSC) through Functional Movement Systems.

Ryan’s past athletic endeavors include wrestling, baseball, cross country, and gymnastics (as an adult). He has also participated in a few adventure races and run a marathon (once was enough). During his free time, you’ll find him practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (currently a purple belt), rock climbing, mountain biking, or reading.

Sarah FastnerCoach

Sarah graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources and International Business and started a career in Human Resources. Since then, she has found a passion for strength and cardio training. Her passion for these two things is driven by friends, adventure, and wanting never to have to turn down the opportunity to explore — for example, climbing down 800 stairs to climb back up to see one of the most beautiful water falls in Costa Rica, biking through Austria for a wine tour, or running on sandy Florida beaches, running 8 half marathons, dozens of 5k’s with friends, and a few bike races — because of a fitness limitation.  Her day job is helping and counseling people with their careers, and she easily translates that into helping people reach their health goals. She has trained at TNT Performance since 2009 and obtained her StrongFirst Girya (SFG) instructor certification in 2013.

John GreksoCoach

John was first introduced to kettlebell training shortly after his first child was born in 2008.  A chance encounter with Ryan at the gym one day opened his eyes to a new and more effective method of strength and cardio training.  And as a new dad, John didn’t want parenthood to get in the way of his health.

Now as a father of three children, he continues to utilize kettlebells as an effective and efficient tool to keep up with his kids… if not ahead of them.  Even with the demands of daily life – after school activities, weekend basketball games, swimming lessons – and his day job in information technology, the training he has learned since starting at TNT Performance allows him to do those things and still have time to improve his overall health.

Since John started using kettlebells, he has developed a great appreciation for how much improvement can be gained using basic movements and paying attention to detail (the smallest of details can end up making the biggest of differences).  In 2009 he attended the inaugural HKC certification which expanded his knowledge in those two areas, and he enjoys passing that information on to others in order to help them accomplish things they didn’t initially think possible.

Cassie ZwartCoach

Cassie plays several roles in her everyday life:  Mom, Wife, Athlete, and biggest fan of the Lorax.

As the “Mom”: She is inspired by her kids’ energy and strength, and she trains to be the top monkey bar performer and fastest “kid” on the playground to play tag and kickball.

As the “Wife”: She is one of two leading members of a biking family – casual, long-hill road riding, or mountain biking… two wheels fast and furious or slow and casual. Either way they both enjoy the rush.

As the “Athlete”: She found setting goals involving strength have led to greater abilities outside of the gym. Lifting heavy weights really is exciting & confidence-building… and she recommends that everyone try it. She is always thirsty to learn more and share what she has learned.

As the “Lorax fan”: Her day job is in the world of sustainability – helping customers improve their water and energy usage targets… her slice of making the world a better place.

Cassie discovered TNT Performance in 2013 and quickly realized kettlebell training would help her continue to improve her strength & health and that it would be something she is never “too old” to do. As her strength and mobility quickly improved, she became eager to start sharing this “strength hobby”. In 2015, she attended the school of strength and became a certified SFG kettlebell instructor.
