Kettlebell training recruits a LOT of muscles and that, in turn, burns a LOT of calories in a very short period of time. Now that’s great news for someone with a fat-loss goal, but there is a catch… There’s a saying in the kettlebell community that goes something like this: “You can’t out-swing a doughnut”. That basically means that even though you may be using kettlebells properly, you won’t see the results you’re looking for if you also eat fast food, drink copious amounts of soda or alcohol, or are extremely stressed out.
So to answer your question… Yes, a lot of our clients have lost weight; some of them have lost rather significant amounts. (Read Heather’s testimonial for more info on that.) And we can help you lose weight too! But… you will have to accept the fact that you’re going to have to make some dietary changes.
Now before you go work yourself all into a tizzy… We’re NOT going to ask you to only eat boring food that tastes like cardboard. (We don’t like to eat that sort of stuff either, so we’re definitely not going to make you do it.) What we WILL do is offer up some healthy and delicious recipes as well as educate and empower you to make healthier choices while still enjoying life.
If you can get out of bed and bend over to pick the morning paper out of the rose bushes, then you’ll do just fine in class. Over the years, we’ve worked with individuals who have acute or chronic injuries, aches, and pains; who refer to themselves as “uncoordinated”; who are 100+ pounds overweight; and who have to use their fingers and toes to count the number of years since they’ve last done any significant exercise.
So long as you have a willingness to learn and work hard, you’ll fit right in!
So our answer is: “Probably. Give us a call and we’ll discuss it in more detail.”
Kettlebell training is perfectly acceptable (and beneficial) for children, but the child has to enjoy it for the training to be effective. In fact, the main purpose of training kids is really to get and keep them interested in maintaining an active lifestyle as they age. Accordingly, there is a large focus on playing fitness “games” and on performing movements that improve their general body awareness, coordination, and functional mobility.
The youngest child we’ve worked with so far is 12. If you’d like us to train your child(ren), give us a call to set up an appointment for all of us to meet. If your child(ren) exhibit an appropriate level of emotional maturity, we will gladly offer to train them.
If you are pregnant already, then your main goal should be to grow a healthy baby… Exercise is an important part of achieving that goal, but you shouldn’t necessarily be starting anything new during pregnancy. The only possible exception to that rule is if you are already performing some type of fairly intense strength training. Either way, once you’ve delivered your child, we can definitely help you to get back to pre-pregnancy (or better) shape in minimal time!
We know that our exercise & nutrition methodology is effective & fun and that you’ll continue to train with us when you experience the results. Accordingly, we do NOT have joining fees or contract requirements.
